Left winger for the Waterloo Wolves organization during the 2016-17 season, Christner tallied eight goals and seven assists for 17 points before adding another 10 points (three goals, seven assists) in the playoffs. During the OHL Cup, he suited up in four games for the Wolves scoring one goal.
