Steelheads Acquire Kyle Heitzner from Barrie

The Mississauga Steelheads announced Sunday that they have acquired forward, Kyle Heitzner from the Barrie Colts. In return, the Colts receive a sixth-round pick in the 2021 OHL Priority Selection.

Heitzner, a native of Orilla, Ontario played his minor hockey with the Cambridge Winter Hawks of the GOJHL where he recorded 31 points (12 goals, 19 assists) in 38 regular season games. The Barrie Colts selected him in the 11th round, (218th overall) of the 2015 OHL Priority Selection. Over two seasons with the Colts, the 5’10”, 172-pound forward has registered 20 points (10 goals, 10 assists).

The Steelheads would like to welcome Kyle and the Heitzner family to Mississauga.
