Steelheads Select Albert Michnac in CHL Import Draft

With the 37th overall pick in the 2017 CHL Import Draft, the Steelheads proudly selected Albert Michnac from the Czech Republic. The 5’11”, 176-pound forward spent the 2016-17 season with the Guelph Storm of the Ontario Hockey League, where he recorded 39 points (15 goals, 24 assists) in 65 regular season games during his rookie season.

The Praha native describes himself as a “skilled player with good vision and skating, who likes to have the puck on his stick.“ Michnac is excited to continue his development in the OHL with Mississauga, adding, “I’m really excited to stay in the OHL. I love playing in Canada.” Steelheads’ Head Coach and General Manager, James Richmond is pleased with the addition of Michnac, adding “he is a proven offensive player in our league, and we look forward to seeing him at camp.”

We would like to welcome Albert and the Michnac family to the organization.
