On February 14, the Mississauga Steelheads welcomed to the Hershey Centre over 30 schools from the Peel, Halton and Toronto school boards for their second School Day game of the season. This marked their first ever school day sell-out.

A staggering 5,482 voices chanted, “Go Steel Go!” and “Fear the Fish!” throughout the contest. Students held their colourful homemade signs high for the Fish to see and their enthusiastic energy never seemed to fade.

The Steelheads’ School Day game is a great field trip opportunity and allows students otherwise unable to attend the chance to experience an elite sporting event.

The School Day game is just one way local schools can become involved with the Mississauga Steelheads. The team has several school programs including school tours throughout the season, an anthem program, Read to Succeed and Adopt-A-School.
