Alex Nylander Commits to Steelheads

Mississauga, ON – The Mississauga Steelheads are pleased to announce the commitment of the team’s first round 2015 CHL Import Draft Selection, Alexander Nylander.

Alexander Nylander spent the majority of the 2014 – 15 season at AIK J20 in the Swedish J20 SuperElit League; recording a team high 42 points in 40 games. Nylander also participated in three games for AIK’s Allsvenskan team last season. After being named to Sweden’s U-17 team participating at the 2014 World Under – 17 Challenge in Sarnia – Lambton, Nylander recorded a team-high seven points in six games on the way to a bronze medal. Nylander most recently lead Team Sweden to a silver medal at the 2015 Ivan Hlinka Memorial; recording six points in five tournament games.

“Alexander Nylander is a highly skilled forward, who plays the game at a high speed. Alex’s attributes will allow him to be a key contributor with our hockey club right away,” said Steelheads Head Coach and General Manager, James Boyd.
