Harley Inks ELC with Stars

FRISCO, Texas – Dallas Stars General Manager Jim Nill announced today that the club has signed defenceman Thomas Harley to a three-year, entry-level contract.

The Stars selected Harley in the first round of this summer’s NHL Entry Draft with the 18th overall selection. Harley, 18, recorded 58 points (11-47=58) in 68 regular-season games with the Steelheads in 2018-19; good for fourth among OHL defencemen scoring and led all Mississauga skaters with 47 assists.

Earlier this month, Stars Head Coach Jim Montgomery had this to say about the Steelheads blueliner; “He’s a beautiful skater, covers a lot of ice, makes a lot of good decisions. We’re excited about him, really excited.”

Originally drafted 14th overall by the Steelheads in the 2017 OHL Priority Selection, Harley has skated in two NHL pre-season games for the Stars; registering 1 assist and logging an average of 21:56 per game.
