He has a lot of experience playing with men and on the international stage. He’s a goalie that competes and gives his team a chance to win every game. We would like to welcome Alessio and his family to the Steelheads.”
The next selection in the draft went to another Swiss player, forward Valdemar Hull from Fribourg, Switzerland. I’m positive a lot of NHL teams will be excited to see him when they come to Mississauaga this year. We would like to welcome Valdemar and his family to the Steelheads.”
The most recent Steelheads selection in the CHL Import Draft was defenceman Kasper Larsen from Denmark in 2020. The Rodovre native went on to score 43 points (8G, 35A) in 57 games during the 2021-22 season.
The last time the Trout selected two players in the Import Draft included defenceman Ole Bjorgvik-Holm, who played two seasons with the Mississauga Steelheads.
