Steelheads to Host Annual Toys for Tots Game with Peel Police and Salvation Army

MISSISSAUGA, ON – With the holiday season just around the corner, the Mississauga Steelheads will be hosting their annual Toys For Tots game on Sunday, November 27 at 2 PM when they take on the Kingston Frontenacs. The hockey club is once again proud to work alongside the Peel Regional Police and the Salvation Army to help make a difference for families in need over the holidays. Last season, The Toys for Tots game raised a record 582 toys and $735 in donations to support the Mississauga community.

“Toys for Tots is a campaign that means a lot to the families involved,” said Constable Taryn Hill, the Chair of Toys for Tots, “I feel honoured to be able to help with putting smiles on children’s faces this Christmas, but this is something I cannot do on my own. We have many partnerships within our community that help make a huge difference, and one of those partnerships are with the Mississauga Steelheads who have supported Toys for Tots for years. They provide us with hundreds of toys that help make kids smile each year. All toys are given to kids who need them the most. Our goal is to “sprinkle a little magic this Christmas season.”

“Thank you for your ongoing support Mississauga Steelheads, we truly appreciate it!“

The Steelheads, Peel Regional Police and the Salvation Army encourage all fans attending the game to support the toy drive by bringing an unwrapped gift or giving a cash donation to the kiosk located at the main gates. Fans will receive a complimentary ticket to a future Steelheads game with each donation.

The Steelheads hold a 1-0 record against the Frontenacs this season. The last meeting between the teams was on November 13 at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre, where Mississauga beat Kingston 4-3 in an overtime thriller. Montreal Canadiens prospect Owen Beck earned his second career hat trick with the OT winner, with Chicago Blackhawks pick Ethan Del Mastro tallying three assists in the game.

Tickets for this Sunday’s game can be purchased online via Ticketmaster by clicking here or during regular Box Office hours at the Paramount Fine Foods Centre.
