Steelheads trade Sean Day to Spitfires for draft picks

The Mississauga Steelheads announce the transaction of New York Rangers’ third round selection, Sean Day, to the Windsor Spitfires along with two draft picks (MISS 6th in 2017 & BAR 3rd in 2019).

In exchange, the Steelheads will receive Sarnia’s 2nd round selection in 2017, Niagara’s 2nd round pick in 2018, Windsor’s 5th round selection in 2019 and Windsor’s 3rd round pick in 2020.

Day, a Rochester, MI native, appeared in 183 games for the Steelheads since 2013 – 14, recording 25 goals & 79 points.

“Sean has been a valuable member of our hockey club. We wish him all the best in his future hockey endeavors” said Steelheads general manager James Boyd.
